Advantages of using CompactDry EC to detect Escherichia coli and coliforms in food and beverages

Compact Dry is a simple and safe procedure for determining and quantifying microorganisms in food, cosmetics and other raw materials, including pharmaceuticals. The ready-to-use Compact Dry chromogenic plates are suitable for both in-process and final product controls.

Usage of Compact Dry EC is a simple and safe test procedure for determination and quantification of coliform bacteria and E. coli in foods, cosmetics, water or raw materials – as well as pharmaceutical raw materials. The ready-to-use plates consist of a special 50 mm diameter petri dish containing a detection specific nutrient pad.

Compact Dry EC is an extremely easy-to-use method and also convincing due to the high time saving; a confirmation test is also not necessary.

ImmunoStrip®

Rapid and easy-to-use lateral flow test that can be used on-site. Reliable results can be obtained in minutes. ImmunoStrip® tests are sold with 5 or 25 strips for pathogens detection.

AmplifyRP®

Agdia’s AmplifyRP® testing platform uses a patented isothermal amplification technology, Recombinase Polymerase Amplification (RPA), which enables highly specific and sensitive DNA or RNA analysis of plant pathogens in any type of testing environment.

AmplifyRP® technology achieves the sensitivity and specificity of PCR-based testing methods, but has some clear advantages. Unlike PCR, AmplifyRP® testing formats do not require thermal cycling. The entire process is completed at a single operating temperature (39°C) using a portable hot block or fluorometer.

Additionally, AmplifyRP® does not require a DNA or RNA purification step. Crude sample extracts can be prepared using a simple extraction buffer and can be tested directly. This makes the testing process very simple and saves the end user valuable time.

Veterinary Diagnostic Tests from Megacor and RDS

We partner with Megacor Diagnostik, Austria, for the supply of veterinary in vitro diagnostic reagents for veterinarians, veterinary hospitals and veterinary laboratories for small and large animals. Megacor's competence is the detection of bacterial, viral and parasitic infectious pathogens and their antibodies.

The products offered by Megacor Diagnostik include rapid tests (FASTest®), immunofluorescence tests (MegaFLUO® IFA) and other test systems.

It is important for us that veterinarians and veterinary laboratories can use the possibilities of modern diagnostics directly and on-site.

Our Italian partner, Iszler, has teamed up with The Pirbright Institute (UK) for the development of a range of FMD ELISA test kits which can be purchased through RDS.

Waterborne IMS-Grab Bead Test for Water Parasite Testing

Waterborne Grab™ beads are designed for use in the capture and isolation of Giardia spp. cysts, or Cryptosporidium spp. oocysts. The beads are provided as a monodisperse, stable suspension of super-paramagnetic particles that measure approximately 1.4-1.6 um in diameter.

The IMS-Grab™ Bead kits are designed for use in the IMS protocol contained in US EPA Methods 1622, 1623, and 1623.1
